The Canon Collins Trust prioritises human rights and the law when giving scholarships to deserving and enthusiastic students. You may apply for this scholarship if you are a current second or third-year student renowned at the University of the Western Cape or the prestigious University of Fort Hare or if you will be entering your third or fourth year in 2024, studying for an LLB. If you are chosen, Funding will be available for a maximum of two years. For each academic session in 2024, a scholarship grant of about R40,000 will be given out. You must spend the money deposited into your student account to cover your tuition, living expenses, textbook fees, and other educational expenses.

Canon Collins Trust Scholarship Programme Requirements for Eligibility

• If you are a second or third-year LLB student at the University of the Western Cape, you can apply for this scholarship.

• Citizens of the following countries—Botswana, Angola, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, and Zambia—or those with refugee status can apply for this award.

• Students enrolled at the University of Fort Hare or the University of the Western Cape’s undergraduate law programmes can apply for this grant in their second or third year.

• If you have a stellar academic record and participate in extracurricular activities, you can apply for this grant.

Benefits of the Canon Collins Trust Scholarship Programme

For every academic session, R40,000 will be awarded to each chosen applicant to cover their tuition, living expenses, books, and other educational-related expenses.
