• Applicants for the scholarship cannot be younger than 25 years of age.

• The candidates have to be nationals of the nations that qualify.

• To apply for a scholarship, a candidate must be accepted into a recognised educational institution.

• The candidates cannot be married to an employee of the Inter-American Development Bank or the World Bank Group, the International Monetary Fund

• In order to pursue a full-time degree programme, the applicants must be accepted.

• The candidates must plan to pursue their full-time degree programmes for a minimum of six months or one academic semester.

• The candidates must plan to graduate in no more than 2.5 years.

• Neither US citizenship nor permanent residency (green cards) nor Canadian citizenship nor landed immigrant status may be held by the candidates.
