Key Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics to students across the secondary phase. You’ll ensure high-quality learning experiences and aim to deliver outstanding academic outcomes for every learner under your guidance.

As a full-time teacher at The Deepings School, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Teaching and Planning

• Deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons tailored to the academic needs of your students.

• Set meaningful assignments and ensure regular assessment of student progress both in and outside the classroom.

2. Student Progress and Assessment

• Continuously monitor, record and report on student development, attainment and progress.

• Provide feedback that supports students’ learning and promotes growth.

• Contribute to individual student reports and references as required.

3. Parent and Stakeholder Communication

• Establish clear and ongoing communication with parents/carers to discuss student performance.

• Engage with external agencies and services when needed to support student welfare or educational progress.

• Participate in parent-teacher evenings and school events as appropriate.

4. Professional Development and Training

• Participate fully in all school-organized training, including INSET days and subject-specific CPD opportunities.

• Undertake additional training as required, particularly in areas identified in appraisals or performance reviews.

• Stay current with the latest trends and strategies in Maths education.

5. Behaviour Management and Classroom Culture

• Uphold and enforce the school’s behaviour policies, creating a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment.

• Be prepared to cover for absent colleagues as directed by school leadership, in line with standard teaching agreements.
