The trucking industry continues to be a backbone of the Canadian economy and at Suman Transport, we’re proud to play a critical role in delivering goods safely and on time. But we know that behind every successful delivery is a professional driver who puts in the hours, manages routes effectively and handles long-haul responsibilities with confidence. That’s why this job opportunity is not just about having a license – it’s about having the mindset and discipline of a seasoned logistics professional.
For Winnipeg-based drivers who already hold a valid U.S. visa, this job opens the door to cross-border operations backed by fair compensation and LMIA support for eligible candidates.
This position is uniquely tailored for candidates who are ready to commit to a consistent, full-time schedule and want to work with a company that values their time, energy and professional skills. As a Class 1 driver, you’ll be expected to manage scheduled 8-hour shifts, covering Monday to Friday routes with the possibility of weekend runs when needed. That structure gives you both consistency and the opportunity to earn more based on your availability and route assignments.
This job suits someone who thrives in a structured environment, has strong attention to detail and understands the responsibility of working in time-sensitive logistics.
What sets this opportunity apart is the support we provide for eligible candidates through Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) sponsorship. If you’re a foreign worker already in Winnipeg with valid work authorization or a candidate looking to align your trucking career with a permanent immigration pathway, this job could be your stepping stone.
We understand the challenges international drivers face when navigating employment and residency requirements, which is why we’re proud to provide LMIA assistance for those who meet our hiring standards. It’s more than just a job – it’s a chance to settle and thrive in Canada with the right support structure in place.
Before applying, it’s important to note that this opportunity is exclusively available to individuals already living in Winnipeg or nearby communities within Manitoba. Due to the nature of our dispatch and logistics operations, we cannot accommodate applicants from other provinces or international locations at this time. Our goal is to build a reliable team of drivers who are locally based, dependable and ready to get started with minimal onboarding delays.
If you meet all the criteria – experience, valid Class 1 license, U.S. visa and current Winnipeg residency – then we invite you to take the next step and apply or contact us directly. You could be driving into your next big career move with Suman Transport.
Pay
At Suman Transport, we believe in rewarding our drivers for their hard work and dedication. That’s why this position starts at $21.60 per hour, with room for growth based on your experience and performance.
While the base pay starts from $21.60/hour, we also offer competitive mileage-based incentives, starting at 1 cent per mile for those just getting started in the role. However, if you’re a highly experienced Class 1 driver, there’s room to negotiate a higher rate based on your skills, past performance and familiarity with cross-border trucking.
We understand that driving is more than just a job – it’s a commitment. That’s why we compensate accordingly and offer opportunities for career progression and increased earnings over time. Whether you’re a seasoned long-haul trucker or an experienced professional with U.S. border experience, we want to recognize your value with fair compensation.
Our compensation package is structured to ensure you’re not only making a living but building a career.
